We will expand your capacity to hold big wild emotions with safety, while building pathways for freedom, precision and specificity for your stage work. Through learning your own nervous system and energy patterns, you will leave with actual tools to befriend your body resulting in more authentic clowning, creation, living and less thinking in general.

The Polyvagal Clown is the perfect gateway for the clown curious as well as for seasoned perfomer who wants to sharpen their physical performance skills and learn to care for their nervous system pre, during and after performing. Using the work of Grotowski, Allen Wayne, Linklater, Loyd Williamson, as well as Polyvagal Theory and the chakra system; we will remind our bodies what it’s like to feel freedom and safety at the same time, all the while creating specificity and presence for your stage work.

Polyvagal Theory at its core is about aligning your body with your soul in order to be the truest you, which also happens to be at the core of clowning.

In more scientific terms, Polyvagal Theory is how your body automatically shifts between different states; calm and social, alert and defensive, or shut down - based on whether it perceives safety or danger, connection or isolation. The work focuses on the vagus nerve, which connects your brain to many parts of your body, including your heart, lungs, and digestive system. My hope is that learning more about this work will improve the quality of your performance, as well as your life and your health.
